The drama is “inspired by the true story life story” of Melissa Moore, daughter of Keith Jesperson, who gave himself the moniker Happy Face. Adapted from Melissa’s 2018 podcast Happy Face, and her 2009 autobiography Shattered Silence, co-written with M. Bridget Cook, it stars Dennis Quaid and Annaleigh Ashford.
