About this episode

Title: The Forgotten Expedition

Level: Advanced (C1)

Story :

Dr. Evelyn Marks, an archaeologist, leads an expedition deep into the Amazon jungle in search of a legendary lost civilization. After months of treacherous travel, she and her team discover the ruins of an ancient city that had long been dismissed as a myth. Inside the city’s temple, they uncover a mysterious sphere emitting a soft, golden light. Ignoring the warnings inscribed on the temple walls, Evelyn touches the sphere, triggering a seismic event that reveals the presence of a powerful guardian. The guardian warns them that the power they have awakened cannot be undone, and while the team is allowed to leave, they know that the consequences of their discovery will follow them. The expedition ends with the ominous knowledge that whatever was sealed in the ancient city has now been set in motion.

Vocabulary :

  • Treacherous – dangerous or difficult to navigate.
