Greek Language Experts
About this episode

In today's episode you will listen a dialogue where one is sick and the other one is a friend calling to check in.

D: Γεια σου Έμιλυ μου./Hello my Emily

E: Πω πω ακούγεσαι πολύ μπουκωμένη./Wow you sound very stuffy.

D: Ναι άσε/Yeah

E: Σε πονάει και ο λαιμός σου;/Does your throat hurt too?

The chamomile and honey tea you told me to drink helped.

E: Αχ μπράβο!/That’s great!

D: Βέβαια βγάζω πολλά φλέματα και βήχω πολύ./Of course I produce a lot of phlegm and cough a lot.

E: Σε καταλαβαίνω! Έχεις πυρετό;/I understand! Do you have fever;

Με πονάει το κεφάλι μου όταν κουράζομαι αλλά είναι λογικό./I had low fever on Friday but since then thankfully not. My head hurts when I'm tired but it makes sense.

Αν και το συνάχι με τον βήχα είναι πολύ κουραστικό./Well, yes, since you are sick. Good thing you don't have a fever! Although the cough is very tiring.

D: Θα περάσει… Εσένα ο Αχιλλέας τι κάνει;/It will pass. What’s Achilles doing?

Είχε πολύ πυρετό την προηγούμενη εβδομάδα/He's better too. He had a high fever last week.

D: Ωχ! Did you call the pediatrician?

E: Ναι τον πήρα και μου είπε να του δώσω αντιπυρετικό και ευτυχώς του έπεσε ο πυρετός μετά από λίγο./Yes I did and he told me to give him an antipyretic and luckily his fever went down after a while.

D:Πάλι καλά που δεν έπρεπε να πάτε στα επείγοντα!/Good thing you didn't have to go to the emergency room!

Ευτυχώς πέρασε τώρα!/I was very anxious about it too! Luckily it's over now!

D: Άντε περαστικά και αγύριστα./I hope he’s well.

E: Περαστικά και σε εσένα αγάπη./Get well too, love.

D: Σε αφήνω να πάω να ξαπλώσω και θα τα πούμε αύριο./I have to go get some rest and I'll see you tomorrow.

E: Φιλιά πολλά!/Lots of kisses!

D: Σ’ ευχαριστώ που πήρες να δεις τι κάνω./Thank you for checking in on me.

E: Χαρά μου! Άντε πήγαινε./My pleasure! Now go get some rest.

D: Φιλάκια/kisses
