China welcomes Gaza ceasefire agreement

The high-level meeting on economic and trade affairs between China and the United States has concluded in Geneva. Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng said the two sides have reached substantive progress and important consensus. 

A Chinese diplomat says the country is ready to strengthen coordination with Latin American countries to uphold international multilateralism. 

The fourth ministerial meeting of a forum between China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States will convene in Beijing on Tuesday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has delayed a vote to approve the Gaza ceasefire deal, accusing Hamas of seeking last-minute changes to the agreement. 

Israel and Hamas reached an agreement securing the release of an Israeli hostage held in Gaza and allowing the return of Palestinians to the north of the strip. 

A Gaza ceasefire, which involves a full withdrawal of Israeli forces and the release of all the hostages, has been agreed by Israel and Hamas. The announcement was made by the PM of Qatar, which helped broker the deal.
