A campaign released over the past year in the culture used the slogan, "Jesus gets us". Scripture reveals that Jesus took on human nature so that he could "empathize with our weakness" (Heb. 4:15). But if Jesus has only that to offer, He is of little help to us. On Tuesday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte Dr. John Koessler, MBI Professor tells us that Jesus became flesh not only to "get us", but to die for us. He became human to become a sacrifice for our sins (1 John 2:2, 4:10). Sin demands a remedy far stronger than sympathy. Jesus is "the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world--He was born to die. (Rev. 13:8).
