She is the founder and Executive Director of Women for Justice and Equality (formerly IDRA). We also talk to Fatima Seedat, a feminist, Islamic scholar, and women's rights acitvist, who is currently the Associate Professor and Head of Department of African Feminist Studies at the University of Cape Town. We also listen to Rumana Mahomed, an attorney and fiduciary practitioner from South Africa.
The guests talk to us about the civil and islamic inheritance laws, as well as social practcies, that affect women’s financial rights after divorce. We learn why these issues matter, and what changes are needed.
