April 7th, 2008. Kansas City, Kansas. In the early morning hours of April 7th, 2008 Kathleen Schroll called her mother and told her that Pete Coones, whom she was in a legal battle with, had broken in and was going to kill her husband Carl. Before she hung up she said she was afraid she’d be next. Kathleen’s brother called 911. The police arrived minutes later and found Kathleen and Carl dead from gunshot wounds.
