In this episode, Ricardo Karam meets Hana El-Hibri, a writer and bold explorer whose journey mirrors the rich cultural mosaic of Lebanon. Born in Alexandria in 1958, Hana grew up as the daughter of a Lebanese diplomat, living in various countries including Egypt, Italy, Australia, Ghana, and Algeria. Frustrated by the stereotypical view of Lebanon, she embarked on a mission to unveil her country’s hidden beauty and rich heritage.
Her acclaimed book, A Million Steps (2010), encapsulates this mission. Through a photographic memoir documenting her journey across Lebanon, Hana reveals the country's breathtaking landscapes from north to south. The book, now in its third edition, inspired a movement to preserve Lebanon’s hiking trails and reimagine its global image. Her latest project, Meelo!, delves into Lebanese culinary heritage, celebrating rural life and the natural ingredients that sustain it. Hana describes it as "a mosaic of small pieces that form the beautiful picture of Lebanese cuisine."
Hana lives in Beirut with her husband Bassam and is the proud mother of three young men. Today, she continues her work to preserve Lebanon’s natural and cultural legacy, showcasing a vision of a country celebrated for its natural beauty, history, and spirit—far beyond clichés.

في هذه الحلقة، يلتقي ريكاردو كرم هناء الهبري، الكاتبة والمستكشفة الجريئة التي تعكس مسيرتها الحياة الفسيفسائية الثقافية في لبنان. وُلدت هناء في الإسكندرية عام ١٩٥٨ ونشأت، كونها ابنة دبلوماسي لبناني، في عدة بلدان من بينها مصر وإيطاليا وأستراليا وغانا والجزائر. دفعها الإحباط من النظرة النمطية تجاه لبنان إلى الانطلاق في مهمة لإظهار جمال بلاده الخفي وتراثها الغني.
كتابها الشهير "مليون خطوة" (٢٠١٠) يلخّص هذه المهمة بوضوح.
من خلال مذكرات مصوّرة توثّق رحلتها عبر لبنان، تكشف هنا عن مناظره الطبيعية الخلابة من الشمال إلى الجنوب. ألهم هذا الكتاب، الذي وصل إلى طبعته الثالثة، مبادرة للحفاظ على دروب المشي في لبنان وإعادة تشكيل صورته عالمياً. ويأتي مشروعها الأحدث "ميّلوا!" ليغوص في التراث الغذائي اللبناني، ويحتفي بحياة الريف ومكوناتها التي تغذيها. وتصف هنا مشروعها بأنّه "فسيفساء من قطع صغيرة تشكّل اللوحة الجميلة للمطبخ اللبناني
تعيش هنا في بيروت مع زوجها باسم وهي أم لثلاثة شبّان. اليوم، تواصل العمل للحفاظ على إرث لبنان الطبيعي والثقافي، ويعكس عملها رؤيتها للبنان الذي يُحتفى به لجماله الطبيعي وتاريخه وروحه، بعيداً عن الكليشيهات.
