Nonprofit Food Bank Donates 270,000 Pounds of Food

Reflection of Trinity’s 14th annual Thanksgiving Food Drive in Powder Springs marked a record-breaking year, distributing over 270,000 pounds of food to more than 1,600 families in need. Held at Linked UP Church, the nonprofit’s effort saw over 300 volunteers, including local officials such as State Representative David Wilkerson, Cobb Chairwoman Lisa Cupid, and Sheriff Craig Owens, who worked in cold weather to ensure families received around 85 pounds of food each. This amount included Thanksgiving staples meant to cover the holiday week. The event relied heavily on community support, with most of the $37,000 worth of food sourced from the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Turkeys alone cost about $21,000, funded through donations and sponsors. Cars looped through the church parking lot, where multiple loading stations were set up for efficient distribution. Founded in 2003, Reflection of Trinity’s mission is to combat poverty by providing food, education, and essential services, creating lasting community impact.
