Her grandmother, Joyce, ultimately decided to report Alana missing to the Clark County Sheriff's Office.
Witnesses later reported seeing Alana at a property she often visited in Battle Ground, Washington, but the timing of these sightings was unclear. There were also unverified claims from others who said they had seen Alana after that date.
