In today’s episode, you will learn a series of vocabulary words that are connected to a specific topic. This lesson will help you improve your ability to speak English fluently about a specific topic. It will also help you feel more confident in your English abilities.

5 Vocabulary Words Related to the topic

  1. Carpool (Noun/Verb): A group of people traveling together in a single vehicle, typically to save on transportation costs or reduce environmental impact; to travel in such a manner. 
    • Example sentences:

  4. Rush hour (Noun): The busy periods of the day when traffic congestion is at its peak, typically occurring during the morning and evening when people are commuting to and from work. 
    • Example sentences: 
      1. Avoid driving during rush hour if you can, as traffic tends to be gridlocked.
      2. Public transportation services often experience overcrowding during rush hour.
      3. His job allows him to work flexible hours, avoiding the stress of rush hour traffic.
  5. Fare (Noun): The money paid for transportation, especially by bus, train, or taxi. 
    • Example sentences: 
      1. We purchased our bus fares before boarding the double-decker.
      2. Senior citizens are eligible for discounted fares on public transportation.
      3. The taxi driver quoted a fare based on the distance to our destination.
