About this episode

In this "Giants in Plastic Surgery" episode of the PRS Global Open Deep Cuts Podcast, Dr. Carlos Roxo discusses how profound purpose sparked his journey into plastic surgery, and this journey led him to eventually have a family of surgeons today. He details his career and how he continues to practice excellence in retirement.

A graduate of the Souza Marques School of Medicine, Dr. Roxo honed his surgical skills during his general surgery residency at the Federal Hospital of Bonsucesso. He later specialized in plastic surgery at the prestigious State University of Rio de Janeiro.

Today, Dr. Roxo continues to shape the future of plastic surgery as a practicing surgeon at the Federal Hospital of Andaraí, where he also mentors the next generation of surgeons in the plastic surgery residency program. His commitment to advancing the field extends to his voluntary work at UERJ and his ongoing research as a Master's candidate in Physiological Surgery at the State University of Rio de Janeiro.

Your host, Dr. Vimal Gokani, is a senior Specialty Registrar in plastic surgery in London, England. Your producer & editor, Charlene Kok, is a Year 2 Medical Student in Imperial College London, England, with a keen interest in Plastic Surgery.
