Addressing Thyroid and Autoimmune Issues...

Dr. Eric Osansky DC, IFMCP
About this episode

“Thyroid disorders are very prevalent, especially in women.” - Dr. Lorraine Maita

What you eat and drink, how much you sleep, how much you exercise, the stress you're under, and the toxins you're exposed to all affect your thyroid and hormones. We often underestimate the impact of our lifestyle on our health, but especially for women, the level of toxin exposure through personal care products alone is staggering.

With many of these chemicals being estrogenic, women can end up being estrogen-dominant without having high levels of estrogen itself. Then, once the symphony of hormones is off, you’re at risk for developing a thyroid condition and other issues such as infertility.

Today, I’m excited to chat about hormones and autoimmunity with Lorraine Maita, MD, the Hormone Harmonizer and Detoxifier. Dr. Lorraine is a triple board-certified physician specializing in helping you have boundless energy, stable moods, a lean body, a sharp, clear mind, deep sleep, clear, glowing skin, and balanced hormones so you can feel like yourself again.

In this conversation, Dr. Lorraine and I discuss the complex relationship between thyroid health and your sex hormones, the prevalence of thyroid disorders in women, the impact of estrogen on thyroid function, the importance of holistic approaches to hormone replacement therapy, how lifestyle factors influence overall health, and more. Enjoy the episode!
