78. Demystifying tax in Australia & what...

Ana Kresina & Natasha Etschmann
About this episode

I think we can all agree that, unless you work for an accounting firm or the ATO, tax is preeeeetty mystified. Fortunately, this episode has emerged from the ethers of EOFY to right that wrong.

In this session, Tash and Ana are joined by award-winning accountant Natalie Lennon, and together, they demystify tax. Wondering about marginal tax rates? They discuss them! Have questions about tax on investments? You’ll want to hear their answers! Together, they run the A to Z on the ATO’s domain.

After this episode, tax time will feel that little bit more manageable.

During our chat about claiming working from home expenses, Nat refers to occupancy expenses. As with all tax deductions it is important to get advice on your individual situation. There is some examples on the ato website - https://www.ato.gov.au/individuals-and-families/income-deductions-offsets-and-records/deductions-you-can-claim/working-from-home-expenses/occupancy-expenses
