Tawbah - Repentance

In this lecture, we address the rise of unqualified “armchair experts” and emphasise the importance of seeking reliable knowledge, verifying information, and avoiding the harm caused by speaking or acting without proper understanding, especially in matters of religion. 

In this talk, we reflect on how Islam teaches us to stand firm for justice, even when emotions, loyalty, or personal gain tempt us to do otherwise. 

Istighfar, or seeking forgiveness, both prevents hardship and is a means of relieving hardship. Sh. Omar Suleiman describes one of the best du’as to make for seeking Allah’s forgiveness. 

€œTo be spared and grateful Is more beloved than to be tested and patient Sh. Omar Suleiman reflects on the idea of asking Allah for hardship in order to gain more reward. However it is a narrated that to be spared and grateful is better than to be tested and patient. 

<p>As humans, we are all bound to sin, but the believer is one who repents after making a mistake. Learn about repentance in Islam and the different ways of returning to Allah and seeking forgiveness. </p>
