After 15 months in a Russian prison on trumped up charges of espionage, American journalist Evan Gershkovich is finally facing trial. The 32-year-old reporter faces up to 20 years in jail if convicted. Apart from a brief photo-op today, Gershkovich is unlikely to be seen until the process ends. Correspondent Matthew Chance brings us a report with the details, followed by analysis from Russian historian Nina Khruscheva.
