In the poem "My Country", Dorothy McKellar wrote "I love a sunburnt country, A land of sweeping plains, Of ragged mountain ranges, Of drought and flooding rains". Those words came to life for Mark Bettini in 2019 when his family's cattle stations, spanning 1 million acres in the Pilbara, went from extreme drought to deadly floods in the wake of Tropical Cyclone Veronica. In this episode Mark shares his experience in of trying to keep his cattle alive from a lack of rain, to saving them from dying because of too much rain. This is not an episode to be missed!
