Marriage And Money Troubles

Oprah
About this episode

Original Air Date: January 5, 1987

Oprah talks to three married couples: William and Cindy Roberts, Joel and Cynthia Mays and Steve and Karen Poulsen about how their respective struggles with money problems lead to arguments which negatively affect their relationships. Olivia Mellan, a psychotherapist who conducts workshops around the country, helps the couples better understand and resolve their money-related marital conflicts. She says money is rarely money, but is really a stand-in for things like love, honor, power, comfort, security, self-worth, and even sex.
