Precision Medicine in Chronic Lymphocyti...

European Hematology Association
About this episode

Join us for a discussion with Prof Paolo Ghia, MD, PhD, from Università Vita Salute San Raffaele, Milan (Italy), as he explores how precision medicine is transforming CLL treatment.

In this episode, discover how precision medicine is used daily in CLL to decide the best management and  treatment for patients. Listen to Prof Ghia explain how CLL management is moving from traditional chemotherapy to targeted therapies based on specific genetic markers, like immunoglobulin mutational status or P53 aberrations, which help guide treatment decisions.

Explore the array of targeted therapies available for CLL, including BTK inhibitors and BCL-2 inhibitors, and understand how they target critical pathways in CLL pathogenesis. Gain insights from Prof Ghia on the complexities of selecting the right therapy for each patient based on genetic profile, disease risk, and individual preferences.

Through the discussion, recognise the challenges in CLL management, such as relapse scenarios and emerging therapies, and learn the research strategies being explored for potential cures in CLL
