Reinventing Spaces With Concrete Furnitu...

About this episode

In the third episode of the Design Doha podcast, Carlo Massoud joins us to discuss his and his sister Mary-Lynn's joint creative practice, from using man-made materials to produce homeware in organic shapes – and melding their two creative practices and training – to how Beirut influences their output.

The Massoud siblings have been experimenting with innovative approaches to common objects since 2016. Their hands-on approach is driven by fun and trial and error. Each collection brings together the contrasting yet harmonious styles of the brother and sister duo, with Mary-Lynn's handmade ceramic work complementing Carlo's careful pre-production obsession. The latest collection, The Elephant Project, consists of large-scale indoor and outdoor furniture made of light colored concrete. The collection was imagined entirely in Lebanon and is made locally by artisans (via Spotti.com)
