We give you permission to be HONEST abou...

Interview Boss
About this episode

If you're interviewing after leaving a shitty job, there's a good chance you've been told that you should 'never talk bad about a previous job or employer.' It's career advice that's been passed down through generations, and while it has merit - we're worried our listeners are taking the advice TOO seriously and are scared to share any honest thoughts about previous jobs in interviews.

In this week's episode, Emma and Sarah give you permission to talk 'bad' about previous employers.

We help you understand the difference between playing the blame game/venting VERSUS painting an accurate picture of why you left, to help your interviewer understand how you got here, and what you'll be looking to AVOID in this new job.

We give you REAL examples of how you can tell the truth about awful situations, without harping on.

🏀 Shoot Your Shot - Shoutout to Interview Academy Alumni Sam!

"Y'ALL IT WENT SO WELL. I was very nervous going into it, and was beating myself up a bit for not spending enough time in the course as prep, but I am very, very happy with how the interview went! I felt like my strengths (building rapport with interviewers) were emphasized even more, I felt so confident with my career story response, and felt like I had the examples I needed and the structured I needed to answer everything they asked. I also feel like I got a good sense for the company and the team I would be working with, and am even more excited about the role. Fingers crossed!!!"
