Asma starts by sharing a clip from the viral WhatsApp video that inspired her to dive deeper into this topic before reflecting on how the Yemeni diaspora contributed so successfully and deeply to their adopted culture. She traces the first movements out of Yemen to settlements in Indonesia and sheds light on the strong inter-generational efforts to preserve a connection to their home.
