About this episode

What is going on with shipping?

In episode 232, Sal Mercogliano, a former mariner, a teacher and a Youtuber, is the guest. We talk about the global hotspots and how what is going on there impacts shipping.

Sal is passionate about putting today's shipping in a historical context. He started his Youtube channel, What is Going on with Shipping, when EVER GIVEN was stuck in the Suez Canal, and he found it so fun, he got so many people cheering him on, so he decided to take it to the next level.

With more than 180,000 subscribers to his channel, Sal is an influencer in the maritime space. We had an exciting conversation about the Red Sea, the Black Sea, the Suez Canal, and the Panama Canal. We talked about seafarers, mariners, leadership, diversity & inclusion, geopolitics and everything there between.

Hopefully, you will enjoy our conversation as much as we did. Please give us a shoutout on social media, and don't forget to subscribe to both our channels. #everyconversationmatters
