92. Soliman le magnifique

About this episode

Soliman Ier, connu sous le nom de Soliman le Magnifique, est sans conteste l'un des plus grands sultans de l'Empire ottoman. 


Son règne de 46 ans, de 1520 à 1566, est le plus long de tout l’empire ottoman. Il en représente aussi l'apogée, tant sur le plan territorial que politique, artistique et intellectuel. 


Surnommé Kanunî (le Législateur) par les Turcs et le Magnifique par les Occidentaux. Son règne a été un âge d'or pour l'Empire ottoman, caractérisé par des succès militaires, des réformes politiques et juridiques, ainsi qu'un essor des arts et des lettres.
