Family Ties...And Belts

Sven Erlandson
About this episode

Meet Amirah and Cory, two women struggling to escape the toxic effects of their families. Amirah says she was taught to hate herself from the moment she was born. She feels her family defines her only by her mistakes, and when she misbehaved, she got the belt...unlike her brother. Cory believed the world would be better off without her, having been abandoned and abused by every member of her family. Moving out of the country has not brought relief, and like Amirah, feels she was made to believe she was always the one at fault. Sven effectively counsels these two women to move forward, knowing their family members have been wrong all along, and helps them reclaim their lives. Explicit content.
