Dr. Hung-Chi Chen is presently the Superintendent of International Medical Service Center at the China Medical University Hospital. He specializes in complex microvascular reconstructive surgery as well as the microvascular transfer of intestine for various reconstructive – which he has written a book on. He is an academic, innovator, scientist, educator, leader, and master surgeon.
He has over 600 papers to his name and has directed more than 150 fellows in almost 30 countries. He treats some of the most challenging cases from all over the globe and his career spans almost 40 years. He was named one of the most inspirational scientists of the world in 2021. 

He is the past President of the Reconstructive Microsurgery Institute in Taiwan, and the Chief of Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, in Taoyuan.
