Generations of Black women have used cosmetic treatments to straighten their hair. Now, thousands claim those hair relaxers gave them cancer. This special episode takes us inside the legal fight by Black women to demonstrate hair relaxers were harmful and the cosmetic companies who made them knew that and kept marketing to them anyway. Those companies vigorously deny those claims, saying their products are subject to vigorous safety reviews and approved for cosmetic use by U.S. regulators.
