S2 Ep2: John Aldridge

Liverpool FC
About this episode
There are few people better placed to talk us through the art of goalscoring than the man who did so on 476 occasions during his career. John Aldridge lived the dream; going from Kop fanatic to wearing the famous red shirt with his hero’s number on his back and becoming a Liverpool icon in his own right.
In the second episode of season 2, Aldo talks us through how the transfer of a lifetime came about the morning of a big cup game, the confidence and nerves he had walking into a dressing room packed with Reds legends but how, ultimately, his knack of goalscoring came naturally.
We also discover the quirk of fate that took him from suffering Wembley heartache in 1988, to feeling utter jubilation 12 months later, which of the hundreds of goals he scored is the one he’d pick to experience all over again and how he won over the hearts of Real Sociedad fans after leaving Anfield.
