The world is struggling to make sense of what is happening between Israel and Palestine right now. The toll of victims continues to rise, an unprecedented siege of Gaza is expected any day now, and a humanitarian crisis including millions of innocent people is unfolding before our eyes. At the peak of international tensions, US President Biden made an address to encourage the American people to stand with Israel and continue support to Ukraine. While I agree with President Biden that America is a beacon of hope, freedom, and power for the world, I cannot stand aside quietly and let his Presidential address continue to confuse and mislead the same Americans we both swore to protect and defend.
