شاركنا اشرف الشرقاوي احد المواقف الصعبة الي أثرت فيه كلمنا عن نفسه وقال: "اتربيت في بيت بيقدس العلم والعمل، والدي كان مهندس مجتهد وناجح ومؤمن بأهمية دور المرأة كذلك في المجتمع فكان دايما بيشجع والدتي على التقدم والاجتهاد، أخدت منه المفاهيم دي وبالتالي كان النجاح العلمي والعملي حاجة مهمة جدا بالنسبة لي، الحمدلله حققت حاجات كتير في مجالي لكن ضريبة ده كان إني مقدرتش أكون عائلة خاصة بيّ لحد دلوقتي ورغم ده أنا مؤمن إن كلٌ مقدر لما خلق له وإن ربنا عوضني بتخصص الأطفال اللي بعتبر فيه كل الأطفال أبنائي وعيلتي ومفيش أجمل من إني أفتح الباب ألاقي الطفل بيجري عليّ ويحضنني.
كلمتي لطلبة الطب وزمايلي الأصغر إن الطب نبيل ومقدس بيخليك شايل هم عيان لسة مقابلتوش عشان كده بنصحكوا تجتهدوا وتثابروا وهتوصلوا لكن في نفس الوقت متسمحش لحاجة تسرق من عمرك أو سلامك النفسي أو وقتك مع حبايبك.

I grew up in a family that cherish science and hardworking, to a father who believes in the necessity of everybody’s sense of responsibility toward their country and the importance of women role in society. I may have honored this concept more than I should have, in other words I’m paying the success tax by not being able to have my own family. but I truly believe that everybody is meant to do something and god has been generous to me that I am surrounded by children in this career that I consider them a family to me.
Medicine is noble and sacred, makes you deal with the most valuable thing to people and this comes with the burden of the responsibility of a patient you haven’t yet met. However don’t let it take your life or time away from you.
