About this episode

Professor of obstetrics and gynecology Mansoura University, Previous Dean for faculty of Medicine - Mansoura University, and current chairman of Huros University (HUE)

“I grew up in a loving home, under the care of my farmer father who loves people and is loved by them, and my compassionate mother who embodies motherhood in its purest form. I spent most of my time studying and discovering the fields of science, literature, history, and politics. I embarked on a travel experience before leaving my small village. Then I actually traveled for the first time in 1997 when I moved to England to practice and learn medicine. However, the experience went beyond that and presented me with a form of cultural clash, which in turn provided me with an opportunity to benefit from a society known for its cultural, religious, and civilizational diversity. This enabled me to learn the value of time, order, objectivity, logic in human interactions, and the necessity of raising oneself to this level in order to ensure justice. I can say that traveling was a long-term experience that was not limited to geography, but rather transcended cultural, intellectual, and social boundaries. Because I love Egypt and live its concerns, and I always wish the best for it, I made sure to transfer this experience when I returned and established the Mansoura Manchester program for medical education, which is characterized by these intellectual qualities and is capable of producing doctors who can communicate with patients better.

After 32 years of practicing the specialty of gynecology with my wife and friend, I can only express my appreciation and gratitude to women. Life, fundamentally, is feminine, and women are the secret of life. I am happy to see the status of women in Egypt improving rapidly, which is a reason for optimism.”
