Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery- Global Open (PRS Global Open)
About this episode

In this "Giants in Plastic Surgery" episode of the PRS Global Open Deep Cuts Podcast, Rod Rohrich, MD describes his journey to becoming an influential plastic surgeon, editor, and educator. Reflecting on his rural upbringing, he explains how his passion for science led him to medicine, and how witnessing a cleft lip repair inspired him to pursue plastic surgery specifically. In this episode, Dr. Rohrich details his drive to give back through teaching and advancing the field. From building a top program at UT Southwestern to revolutionising Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as Editor-in-Chief, his career has been dedicated to leaving plastic surgery better than he found it. Offering insights on developing expertise, leadership, and promoting compassion in trainees, Dr. Rohrich stresses the importance of the journey over the endpoint. By surrounding himself with great people and "living the dream," he has become a giant in plastic surgery.
