OrthoFinance- Intro to Financial Plannin...

NAILED IT ORTHODOCS
About this episode

Welcome to the first episode of our finance series. How this series sprung into existence is no mystery. We learn about medicine and surgery but never really learn much about finance until later in our careers, after we have made some costly mistakes.

Now…

Where do we start? Let's start with an overview of financial planning, applicable for medical students, residents, and fellow and early attendings.

In this first episode, we speak with Chad Chubb, the founder of WealthKeel LLC. Chad Chubb is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Certified Student Loan Professional (CSLP®). He founded WealthKeel LLC in 2015 to simplify and organize the financial lives of physicians across the United States by custom-crafting financial plans centered around their goals and values. He has been quoted by Medical Economics, American Medical Association, and CNBC for his work with physicians. He has been a speaker at The White Coat Investor's Physician Wellness & Financial Literacy Conference in 2021, 2022, and 2023, and he has been on Dr. Dahle's recommended advisor list since 2016. He was named to the InvestmentNews 2020 class of 40 Under 40, Financial Advisor Magazine's Top 10 Young Advisors to Watch in the country for 2021, and Investopedia's Top 100 Independent Advisors in the country for 2021 & 2022.

In this episode, Chad shared about the importance of planning. And he shared some informative points on queries you may have about financial literacy, like:

  1. How much should you pay your student loan monthly?
  2. Whats IRA? What's 403B?
  3. Should you get a financial adviser?
  4. What sort of qualifications should they have if you're getting one?
  5. How much is a reasonable fee for a financial adviser?
  6. Should you get a CPA?
  7. Understanding what are the available Investment plans and platforms like, Should you get insurance? Should you get a Public service loan?

And many more!

This is the Podcast you do not want to miss! Chad is completely transparent and holds nothing in sharing with us what we need to know in planning our future as Physicians.

If you are an aspiring Doctor or already in the field but realize you need help with Financial planning, listen to the rest of the podcast!

Remember:

“Always, plan ahead. It wasn’t running when Noah built the arc.” -Richard Cushing
