Japan Expo, c’est cette semaine. C’est l’événement culturel japonais le plus important d’Europe : quelque 255 000 visiteurs en quatre jours. C’est bien davantage, de loin, que le Festival d’Angoulême. Mais c’est parce que c’est bien plus qu’un festival de BD, c’est « le festival des cultures japonaises » : mangas, animes, jeux vidéo, musique,… toute la pop culture japonaise mais pas seulement : il y a aussi le Life Style comme la mode, le tourisme, la gastronomie, la culture traditionnelle... Le manga dans le sens large (en tenant compte des produits dérivés) représente 30 à 40% de l’événement, ce qui est déjà énorme. Nous avons rencontré l’un de ses principaux organisateurs, Thomas Sirdey. Il nous en raconte les coulisses et nous dispense quelques conseils.
