About this episode

Shelterwood: A Suburban Gothic is crowdfunding during the month of July, 2023. Follow the upcoming audio drama on Twitter and Tumblr @shelterwoodpod, and support the show at bit.ly/shelterwoodpod. You can get all sorts of perks for supporting the show, including stickers, a zine, a poster, and a curated list of books, movies, podcasts, and other media that influenced the show. There's so many great things here.

This Shelterwood micro is titled Home Body. Content warnings for gore, implied abuse, and death in an elevator. Transcript here. See the bottom of the shownotes for a transcript of Tal's introduction after the trailer. A captioned video of the trailer can be found here. (You should watch it, the cinematography is really good!)

This episode was written by Stephen Indrisano, directed by Sivan Raz, and sound designed by Brad Colbroock. It featured Virginia Spotts as Emil and and Alasdair Stuart as Raymond. Executive Produced by Tal Minear.

Transcript of the intro:

That was the trailer for Shelterwood and I'm Tal Minear, executive producer of Re: Dracula, here to tell you more about it. Do you know that feeling of returning to your childhood neighborhood after a long time away, where everything looks the same but feels different? Or sitting in a brightly lit room but knowing, deep down, that something is very wrong? Perhaps the experience of listening to a cheery voice saying very things? That's the feeling of Shelterwood, a suburban gothic docu-horror audio drama. This show is produced by our very own Stephen Indrisano, and will feature (among others) Karim Kronfli and Alasdair Stuart. I've gotten the chance to look at the scripts for Shelterwood and I want you to know I am FERAL about this show. It's going to be so good, but it's only going to be made if they hit their crowfunding goal. So do me a favor and check them out at bit.ly/shelterwoodpod (the link will be in the description), and keep listening for a little taste of what's to come.
