En este episodio del canal de Journal of Evolutionary Studies in Business conversamos con Deborah Besseghini y Ander Permanyer-Ugartemendia co-editores del número especial Global Merchants in Spanish America: Business, Networks and Independence, 1800- 1830 donde se analiza la contribución de los comerciantes a la redefinición del rol de América hispánica tras la caída del Imperio Español (declive del mercantilismo y la reconfiguración del comercio atlántico e inter-pacífico) y las guerras de la época (economía de guerra).

Deborah es doctora en Estudios Humanísticos de la Universidad de Trieste y actualmente se desempeña como investigadora postdoctoral en el Departamento de Cultura, Política y Sociedad en la Universidad de Turín. Además, sus investigaciones se enfocan en la Era de las Revoluciones y los Imperios, particularmente el imperialismo informal.

Ander es doctor en Historia por la Universidad Pompeu Fabra y actualmente se desempeña como profesor ayudante doctor en el Departamento de Historia Contemporánea en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Investiga sobre el imperio español, Asia Pacifico y el comercio de opio en China.

Presenta Beatriz Rodriguez-Satizabal, profesora de la Universidad del Pacífico (Perú). Fundadora y Editora General de Business Pills Podcast.
