‘But on the back of quite a lot of spending becomes an inflation problem which is what we are seeing now. So, I think we are probably going to see another 12-24 months of higher rates of interest, but there is also going to be opportunities around lender policies. We are already seeing that now in our world, some banks are making it easy for customers to switch banks, without supplying all the documentation and getting a better repayment outcome as well. So, like I said before there’s always positives, look you are going to see negatives, but I always focus on the positives and what’s happening in a market like now. I think it’s really important to focus on those positives because it can be all doom and gloom if you pick up the paper and read the news online, but I think we have got to look beyond that and into the future as there’s always that light at the end of the tunnel.’ ~ Colin Mason
Colin Mason never finished school and yet found his own route for success in the money world. Starting out as a debt collector he recalls that being a time where he learnt a heck of a lot about life and people, particularly around having those difficult conversations. But no matter how much negativity or fear there are always opportunities and we need to remain positive so we can be ready for them. Money can be a challenging conversation for many, and whilst it is not the be all and end all, it certainly allows choice and freedom when you understand how to make it work for you.
Colin Mason has over 20 years in the banking/finance industry, having commenced his career with GE Creditline in 1999. Colin was recently the Elite Brokerage Business Coach, Loan Market Group where he coached some of the group's Elite businesses. Prior to this, Colin was a Director of one of QLD’s largest finance brokerages, based on the Sunshine Coast Colin has consistently been recognized as one of Australia's leading Mortgage Brokers. Having lived on the Sunshine Coast for 11 years, Colin has helped thousands of people with home loan finance and is a well-respected member of the Sunshine Coast Community.
His definition of Self Love is taking that holiday that you deserve, take it, book it. Once you book something you know it’s coming, it’s easy to work towards it. Work on your game plan to buy that car or house. Self-love is about giving yourself time. It is realising you need to take that break and work out what you are going to do next. Everything is able to be achieved if we have a game plan.
His favourite quote is: ‘Success is not the key to happiness, but happiness is the key to success.’
If you love what you are doing you will always be successful. And never forget the people who support you to get to that point.
