lease tune in to our latest episode of The Lebanese Physicians' Podcast with Dr. Maya Bizri, MD MPH discussing a topic that is often underrecognized, the mental health of healthcare workers. In this episode, we discuss Dr. Bizri's recent trip to Ukraine with MedGlobal in which she visited Lviv in Ukraine as part of a MedGlobal team invited by the Ministry of Health. The team developed a training program for healthcare workers to recognize mental health ailments in their colleagues early on.

Over the past decade, there have been multiple crises in a various areas around the world including Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, Ukraine, Mali, and multiple others. On top of that, there has been the COVID-19 crisis. Healthcare workers have been affected significantly by these crises, and especially by COVID-19. Recognizing the mental health effects of these crises on healthcare workers is of utmost importance. Dr. Bizri highlights the importance of this point and discusses future plans for early recognition.
