The latest from eastern Ukraine

CNN
About this episode

Ukrainian forces are now using long range “storm shadow” missiles provided by the UK to strike Russian targets, CNN reports, with the use of these weapons coming just one week after the UK announced it had delivered them to Ukraine. It comes at a moment when the war-torn country is under increased pressure: Russia launched a barrage of rockets on Kyiv overnight, an attack Ukrainian officials described as “the maximum number of attacking missiles in the shortest time possible.” Meantime the Russian mercenary company army known as the Wagner group is claiming an American citizen has been killed in the battle for Bakhmut. Correspondent Sam Kiley joins the program with the latest details from eastern Ukraine.

Also on today's show: Rob Lee, Senior Fellow in the Foreign Policy Research Institute's Eurasia Program; El Paso, Texas Mayor Oscar Leeser; Ondi Timoner, Filmmaker, “Last Flight Home”
