Andy and his wife scheduled a 15-minute procedure at the local hospital to get tubes in her ears. Very common but stressful nonetheless. Not too long after the procedure they got the bill: $8,000! Their health insurance plan said they werenât going to pay for it because it was âmedically unnecessaryâ.They had done everything right. Their doctor delayed his vacation by a day to do the procedure because he was concerned about long term hearing loss. Yet when they needed our health insurance, they refused to show up to help.
