In the Lucy Letby murder trial, medical expert Dr. Dewi Evans testified that one of the alleged victims had an astonishing amount of air injected into their stomach. The retired pediatrician denied defense claims of bias and insisted his conclusions were based on medical notes. Dr. Evans attributed the baby's final three unexplained collapses to the air injection and cited abnormal crying as evidence of the baby's extreme pain and distress. The prosecution continues to present its case against Letby, who is accused of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder ten others.
