A New Album From R&B Artist Yazmin Lacey

WNYC
About this episode

Last week, UK-based artist Yazmin Lacey released her debut album, Voice Notes. Lacey didn't even start pursuing music until she had graduated college and was living in her home city of Nottingham, when a series of open mics and demos quickly caught people's attention. After a successful 2020 EP, this full-length debut of neo-soul and R&B was inspired by short voice notes Lacey recorded on her phone during the early stages of making the album. Yazmin Lacey joins us from the UK for a Listening Party before she comes to New York to play at SoHo House on March 19.
