Today I will be speaking with Evan Watts, founding partner of D&A Companies. 

 

Evan and the team at D&A are a group of real estate, architecture, and construction professionals who believe in the importance of alluring, inspiring, and special places. They leverage their expertise and passion to deliver valuable projects for their partners, clients, and communities through the art of design and the business of real estate development. 

 

Prior to D&A, Evan spent almost 7 years as part of the development team at Tamarkin Co. and 2 years of those as Director of Development overseeing the development, marketing, and sales.

 

Evan is a native of Atlanta, GA with deep family ties to both Atlanta and Birmingham, AL. He is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and Columbia University, earning both a Master of Science in Real Estate Development and a Master of Architecture. He is a licensed architect and real estate salesperson.

 

In today's episode, we will be discussing:

  • The importance of knowing the language of the other disciplines - here we talk finance of developers
  • Having an appetite and a tolerance for risk
  • The complexities and strategies for the successful raising of capital
