Salty Nerd Reviews: Batman (1989)

The Salty Nerd
About this episode

1989's Batman paved the way for modern comic book films as we know it, changing the movie landscape in Hollywood when it comes to comic book adaptations.

In 1989, Tim Burton brought a fresh take to the iconic superhero with his film, "Batman". The movie starred Michael Keaton as the title character and Jack Nicholson as the infamous Joker. This film promised to offer a unique and dark perspective on the beloved character, and for the most part, it delivered. Keaton offered a new take on the character with a more lighthearted approach, providing some much needed comic relief to balance out the darkness of the film.  The cast was fantastic, with Keaton and Nicholson bringing their A-game to their respective roles. Although the script had its flaws, it was still entertaining and kept audiences engaged. The special effects and costume design were top-notch, showcasing the technological advancements of the time.

Overall, "Batman (1989)" is a must-watch for fans of the franchise and provides a different take on the Dark Knight. While it may not be the darkest or most serious installment in the series, it still holds its own as an entertaining and unique film.
