There has been an exodus from Russia. Many young men fled the country when conscription for the Ukraine war was announced. But even before that, the LGBT community was on the move fearing the outcomes of Russia’s expanded anti-LGBT propaganda laws. It effectively outlaws any public mention of same-sex relations.
Under the laws, individuals and organisations can receive significant fines for any promotion of “non-traditional sexual relations”. Groups like Coming Out SPB had to leave Russia and set up in friendlier European countries, still determined to continue their work.
