"Hi, I have a question; what are the fees for a driver’s license?
- It costs 20 000 DA to get one.
- And, how long does it take?
- Well, first you’ll need to pass a written exam. For this you can come to class or you can learn on your own. You will decide how long you need to memorize all the rules and signs. Here’s a booklet that explains everything and there’s also an app if you prefer. There’s an exam every Saturday at 2 pm. You’ll need to book your spot in advance. It get full pretty quickly. Then, you’ll need to have twenty two hours of driving with our instructor. You can only do one hour at a time so, the fastest you can do is a month. You’ll then have to pass the driving exam.
- Okay, that’s reasonable. What’s the driving exam like?
- It’s divided into three parts. You’ll need to successfully park in a tight spot. I know, that’s the hard part. You will also need to drive in the city and the last part is driving uphill and downhill.
- I think I can learn to do that.
- There’s an age limit. I’m not sure you’re aware.
- I know I look like a teenager but I’m actually twenty years old.
