291: System Built Structural Engineers t...

Devon Tilly / The Art of Construction
About this episode
Garrett Davis and Dereck Peck, Structural Engineers at Tamarack Grove, and Matt McMullen, AOC Executive Director, join us for episode 291 of Art of Construction.

Tamarack Grove Engineering is a structural engineering and design firm that specializes in the manufacturing, commercial, and facilities markets. While always dabbling in the modular market, in recent years their firm has dove head-on into system-built projects across the country.

From a structural engineering standpoint, Garrett And Davis are convinced the modular market sector is an exciting industry to be in right now. They get to be at the forefront of innovation when it comes to structural design. For example, they get the opportunity to find new and creative ways to make modular construction more efficient, easier to construct, and easier to streamline. They also get to challenge existing "construction practices" that are accepted as "just because" and modify them.

Join Devon, Matt, Dereck, and Garrett as they discuss the roles that structural engineers can play in expanding and improving modular construction, the art form of designing modules to be stitched together at the job site, what they see for the future of system built construction, and much more.
