Australia’s biggest night for TV and film, the AACTA Awards, took place this week and some of Hollywood’s biggest exports were on hand to receive awards. Plus, we need to talk about all the nominated Aussie-made shows and movies you need to add to your watch list.
In slightly different awards show news, we also need to talk about the People's Choice Awards that took place this week. There were some truly uplifting and important moments (Lizzo’s acceptance speech) and some truly outrageous turns (a Shania Twain and Ryan Reynolds mash-up) that we need to unpack.
And in more serious news, Kim Kardashian has been granted a restraining order against a man who continually showed up to her house, claiming to have a gun and insisting the two share a personal telepathic connection. It’s just one of many celebrity stalker stories involving home invasions and weapons, but there’s a complicated reason why they often don’t get reported.
