Wondery
About this episode

Once again it’s victory for Verstappen and heartbreak for Hamilton at the Yas Marina Circuit, as the Fast & Loose team brings you all the action from the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2022.

With the season all but wrapped up ahead of Sunday, headlines largely focused on an event outside the race, as the sport bid farewell to F1 legend Sebastian Vettel, who took part in his last race in an F1 car ahead of his retirement. That being said, the race itself did not disappoint and delivered many twists and turns as events unfolded. Charles Leclerc sealed 2nd place in the Grand Prix, drivers and constructors championships for Ferrari, with what he described as a “perfect” strategy from his team. Lewis Hamilton looked to be having a decent race before a hydraulic issue struck on the penultimate lap, resulting in Mercedes' first mechanical failure of the year. Unfortunately this sealed the inevitable, with Hamilton failing to win a race in a season for the first time in his 22-year career.

Throughout the podcast, F1 fans Will Arnett and Michelle Beadle give their hot takes from the weekend and F1 legend Mika gives his analysis and answers your ‘F101’ questions.

We’d like to thank all of our Fast & Loose listeners for getting on board for the ride this season! We’ll be back next week with a 2022 review bonus podcast with Scott Mitchell-Malm from The Race.
