D.B. Cooper, also known as Dan Cooper, was a criminal who in 1971 hijacked a commercial plane traveling from Portland, Oregon, to Seattle, Washington. He threatened the crew and demanded four parachutes and $200,000 in twenty-dollar bills. At some point during the flight, he jumped out of the back of the plane with the parachute and money. The pilots landed safely, but Cooper had disappeared into the night and his ultimate fate remains a mystery to this day.
